I really prefer this to the earlier version. The composition is much stronger. In the other one, the glider hung in the middle of a blue area. Here, the smoke behind it really pulls the eye in. The colors are intense and create nice drama. The smoke and the sight of the ground suggest a fascinating story.
If I had to criticize it, I would say that in the bottom left corner, the image becomes very crowded. I love the extreme foreground smoke, but a little bit more view of the ground would make it less muddled. Also, and this is just personal preference, I think some of the parts of the smoke are over-blended. I can tell in places that you're trying to create a depth of field effect, but I feel like the image would benefit from a little bit more crispness. The highlights on the smoke are very crisp, and it's lovely. The shadows are much softer, I might even say too soft.
I really love the drama of this piece. It's come a long way since the first iteration.
